Two Nabbed With Gun, Drugs During Apparent Drug Deal Gone Wrong, Bridgeport Police Say

Two are men were busted during an apparent "drug deal gone wrong," after police responded to a Text-to-911 call reporting a robbery.

Jeffrey Marroquin, 21, of Colchester, and Hector Rios, 18, of Bridgeport, were arrested around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, after police responded to an East Main Street parking lot to investigate the reported robbery, said Scott Appleby, director of the Office of Emergency Management in Bridgeport.

During a search of Marroquin and Rios, police found one Charter Arms .22 caliber modified loaded survival rifle, under a seat as well as what appeared to be marijuana, 10 folds of heroin and crack cocaine, Appleby said.

Both were placed under arrest and the vehicle towed.
